Future Fund (Peace) Scholarships

For the academic year 2024/25, the International Office of Osnabrück University will award Future Fund (Peace) Scholarships to prospective and current students at Osnabrück University who are financially affected by armed conflict. The scholarship (max. €500 for max. 3 months) will be awarded to cover study-related expenses. For more information, see the Call for Applications: Future Fund (Peace) Scholarships (PDF, 405 kB).

Eligibility & selection criteria

Students who already receive public funding for their studies in Osnabrück are not eligible for a Future Fund (Peace) Scholarship. This applies in particular to funding from public institutions such as ERASMUS, DAAD, etc.
A selection committee will consider applications on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Personal motivation
  • How the scholarship may contribute to the student's academic success
  • Academic record (if applicable)
  • Community service / volunteering (if applicable)
  • Personal hardship caused by armed conflict in the student’s country of origin

DAAD End-of-Studies Scholarships

As part of the "STIBET" program, Osnabrück University's International Office will award end-of-studies scholarships (promoted by the DAAD and financed by the Federal Foreign Office) to international students in 2024. The scholarship amounts to a one-time payment of 500€ in October 2024 for the winter semester 2024/2025.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • International students who did not receive their university entry qualification from a German high school ("Bildungsausländer")
  • Must be currently enrolled at Osnabrück University as a degree-seeking student (Bachelor, Master, State Exam) in the final year of their studies
  • Good or very good results in their studies
  • Students who face financial difficulties through no fault of their own will receive special consideration
  • International students who already receive a scholarship from public funds for the same purpose are excluded from consideration
  • Students who have received an end-of-studies scholarship before are excluded from consideration

DAAD Prize for International Students and PhD Candidates

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) will award the DAAD Prize for outstanding achievements of international students and PhD candidates at German Universities in 2024. The prize honors international students who have demonstrated both academic excellence and outstanding social and intercultural achievements in society. The DAAD Prize (PDF, 393 kB) is worth 1,000.00 €.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • International students and PhD-Candidates who did not receive their university entry qualification from a German high school ("Bildungsausländer")
  • Must be currently enrolled at Osnabrück University as a degree-seeking student (an application is possible up until three months after graduation)
  • Demonstrated academic excellence
  • Social and intercultural achievements in society
  • Students must be at least in their fourth semester of their bachelor studies or in their second semester of their master / PhD

  • Certificates / written documentation of social and intercultural achievements in society
